The Geographical location of Ukraine

Україна є суверенною державою із власною територією, органами державної влади та управління, національним гербом, прапором і гімном. Вона розташована в південно-східній частині Центральної Європи. Межує з Російською Федерацією, Білоруссю, Молдовою, Польщею, Словаччиною, Угорщиною та Румунією. Україна є однією з найбільших держав Європи. Вона має територію площею 604 000 квадратних кілометрів. Її населення становить понад 48 мільйонів людей.

Це українці, росіяни, євреї, білоруси, молдавани, поляки та ін.

Україна вважається надзвичайно красивою

країною. Більшість її території становлять рівнини і лише 5% – гори. Найбільшою річкою є Дніпро. Він вважається однією з найдовших річок світу.

Окрім Дніпра, державу забезпечують водою ще й Дністер, Буг, Донець. Україна має вихід до двох морів: Чорного та Азовського. Найбільшими портами є Одеса, Керч, Миколаїв, Херсон і Маріуполь.

Ukraine is a sovereign state with its own territory, its bodies of state power and government, national emblem, state flag and anthem. The country is situated in the south-eastern part of Central Europe. It borders on the Russian Federation, Byelorus, Moldova, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania.

Ukraine is one of the largest European countries. It covers the area of 604,000 square kilometers. The population of Ukraine is over 48 million people.

There are people of different nationalities

in it: Ukrainians, Russians, Jews, Byelorussians, Moldavians, Poles and others.

Ukraine is considered a land of remarkable beauty. Most part of Ukraineis flat and mountains make up only 5% of its territory. The Dniepro is the main river in the country. It is one of the longest rivers in the world. Besides the Dniepro there are the Dniester, the Bug, the Donets, which provide Ukraine with water.

Ukraine is washed by the Black Sea and the sea of Azov and has such important ports as Odesa, Mariupol, Myko-layiv, Kerch, Kherson. Like any other country Ukraine has big cities, among them are Kiyiv, the capital of Ukraine, Kharkiv, which used to be the capital of Ukrainian Soviet Republic and now it is an important industrial and cultural centre, Donetsk is a coalmining and chemical centre, Odesa is a big sea port, Lviv is a large scientific and cultural centre and a lot of others. From the point of view of its natural resources Ukraine is a rich country.

It is rich in coal, oil, lead, iron ore and building materials. So Ukraine is an industrial and agricultural country.
